For the past several years, I host a Super Bowl party at my house. I always get really into it, I have football themed decor, sports theme memorabilia and everyone is very excited. And by everyone, I mean me. And by party, I mean my husband, his best friend and me. LOL
Yes, every year for the 5-6 years I go all out for 3 people including myself. It’s become kind of a joke but my husband and his best friend indulge me. Every year, leading up to the Super Bowl, his best friend will call and ask, ‘are we having our super bowl party?’ And I’m like yup, everyone will be there. And who can argue with a great television, great entertainment, and great food? No one.
When I think about “what to eat” for a football party, you want to have your typical bar food. We’re talking wings, chili, pizza, tacos, nachos. But of course I can’t just do “wings” or “tacos” I have to do beef barbacoa tacos made in the instant pot or air fryer turkey wings, or nachos made with Gardein ‘beef’ crumbles. Pretty food always tastes better and variety is what you need when you are hosting a party. Not a lot of food- a lot of options.
Stackable food like nachos is always a winner. Tacos are always a winner as well. I would suggest NOT dressing all of the tacos (so your guests have options). My suggestion for pizza is to make it but…divide it into more manageable pieces. Of course you can purchase your drinks but I have made some tasty lime margaritas.
