Hey frenns! Yes, you read that right! My very first book, “Harvesting Joy: A Beginner's…
Harvesting Joy Book Signing Event in Chicago
When I dreamed up the idea for Harvesting Joy: A Beginner’s Gardening Guide, I knew it had to be more than a book—it needed to be a celebration of self-care, growth, and community. And that is exactly what happened at my book signing event in Chicago. It was the book signing of my Southern dreams—Georgia peach vibes and all.
Let’s take it from the top, shall we?

🍑 Georgia-Inspired Decor & Peach Elements
From the moment you stepped into the space, my Georgia roots were clear. Think: sweet peach hues, lush greenery, and soft touches of Southern charm. Every corner was intentionally styled to reflect the essence of Harvesting Joy—from the floral arrangements to the custom signage that nodded to my Albany, GA beginnings. 229-Stand up!
And yes, real peaches made an appearance. They weren’t just in the decor—they were in the flavor of the day.

I loved the subtle (ok not subtle) nods I had to let people know we may be in Chicago- but I am a Georgia girl.
The Menu: Garden-Fresh and Soulful
One of the most talked-about parts of the event? The menu. And babyyy… the peach tea alone deserves its own standing ovation. Made with herbs straight from the Harvey Garden, it was fresh, fragrant, and Southern to its core.
The spread was thoughtfully curated with seasonal, vibrant bites that made guests feel nourished and inspired. In fact, the menu was so well received that I am now working with the Chef Kea to bring y’all a special recipe release for the Peach Caprese Salad. You asked—and I heard you!

The Book Signing: Gardeners, Beginners & Big Conversations

Signing copies of Harvesting Joy was emotional in the best way. I got to meet so many of you—some for the first time—who’ve followed me online for years. Seeing familiar Instagram handles turn into real-life hugs? Whew. That hit different.
We laughed, we shared tips, and some guests even came with questions about starting their first garden. It became part book signing, part impromptu garden coaching session—and I loved every second of it.
One sweet full-circle moment? A dear friend happened to stop by—and reminded me that years ago, I taught her how to start her first garden. She was literally my first “tutee,” and to see how far we have both come… it was humbling and beautiful.
The Joy of Connection
One of my favorite things about Harvesting Joy is that it’s not just about seeds and soil. It’s about slowing down, connecting with your roots, and rediscovering joy in the everyday. This event brought that to life.
New gardeners got tips on the spot. Long-time supporters shared their own garden updates. And together, we celebrated what it means to grow something—from the ground and from within.
