How to Make Southern Peach Cobbler with Homemade Crust

- 9-10 Large Fresh Peaches I used fresh GA peaches
- 1 cup butter
- Juice from Half a large lemon (would be approximately 2 tbsp)
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves be careful this is a powerful spice
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Before Making the Peach Cobbler
On the Stovetop
Melt one cup of butter on medium heat
Add the one cup of sugar
Add the vanilla extract
Add the peaches to the pot and stir
Add the cinnamon and stir
Reduce the heat. This allows the juices of the peach to naturally release
Add the ground cloves
Stir the contents together and leave the peaches on low heat and cover.
After the crust is made
Add the peaches to the prepared dish
Add to the oven on 425 and cook for 45 min
The contents will be bubbling when done.
Enjoy hot!
Lane Peaches are very sweet so adjust the sugar content should you use any other peaches.
